When the mojo has gone...scraplift!!!

I firstly need to say thankyou to EM/Sugar Almond from UkScrappers for the inspiration.. her fabtastic J'adore LO can be seen here....

Today I had the urge to scrap so much... had the time.. gawd only knows I've got enough photos and stash.... but it just wasn't happening.. I just couldn't get glue to paper... so I had to do it.. I had to scraplift...

Now I'm hardly likely to submit my LO's for publication, or am setting the scrapping world alight with my genuius new ideas.. and the likelihood of my family and friends( who are the only ones who see my albums really)browsing online galleries and feeling jipped that the LO starring them was a total rip from somebody elses is pretty slim..... SO.. why do I feel like a fraud scraplifting?!? It's not like I wouldn't give credit to the original...but normally it just doesn't feel right, perhaps it's that I feel I'm not doing justice to the original.. I don't know...

Anyway today was different.. I just knew I couldn't get an original idea squeezed outta my own head, so I delved into my faves.. found one that gave me that feeling.. that ..'That's what I wanna create'..kinda feeling.. and set to it, and you know what..it felt kinda relaxing.. a bit like painting by numbers, I just filled in the blank spaces.. I kinda enjoyed it.... It was what I needed today.. I needed to dip my toe back in the scrapping water... which I did.. t'was warm and lovely.. maybe next time I'll be back without without my armbands!!!!

Coooeeeeee!!

Well just a quick post in case anybody ever reads this!!LOL..
I haven't fallen off the end of the earth.. have just been a busy lil bee again.. ( The groove is on it's way.. I can feel it..) ..
Had a lil family break to the Lakes... beautiful.. can't wait to go again soon... but am eyeing up a new tent as I was getting serious tent envy while we were there.. our sad lil Eurohike looked like a shed compared to theses swish Outwells and Vangos.. yep we were the proper scrubbers of the campsites ROFL!!!! But we had a mega fun time, love so much how we iunteract when we go camping... really makes you bond as a family....
Anyhoo... have now been fag free for 10 days... woo hoo.. and according to my lil calculator I've saved about 19 quid... OMG It so scares me that I was spending so much on smokes.. what a bleeding waste, could have a kit and a new set of stamps each month for the amount I spent .. must remember to treat myself at end of month though.... Last week was easy but this week on nights has been HORRENDOUS.. that's with a capital H, UPPER CASE and Bold.. really really that bad.. So am sat with chewing gum, inhalator and glucose tablets at the ready, surrounded by a gazillion water cups.. Pray for my workmates .. they may not survive the week.. mwwaaaaahhhhhahahahahaah!!!!

Will be back soon with pretty stuff.. I promise.. yeah yeah yadda yadda.. I know you've heard it all before.. but IT IS.. It's on it's way.. listen carefully and you'll hear it.. the groove is a comin, and then life will be settled.. AWesome xxx

LOL.. In my mind!!!

Haven't been blogging as haven't had much to say really...I finally found out I'm keeping my position at work which was a huge relief... and since then life has been a blur!!!!!Of Nowt, Sod all and bugger all.. I've had so little energy that I've been doing zip.. bar surf the net and watch trashy tv...I really must get some housework done today.. but what have I done instead.. browse facebook, started by looking at my Bro's photos of oz.. and got sucked into it...WARNING:THAT THERE T'INTERWEB IS BAD FOR YOUR HABITAT HYGIENE!!!! 2 hours later here I am, what do I have to show for it..just this lil meez... LOL it's me in me dreams... couldn't quite work out how to fit a lardy arse..so will have to have the sylph like figure of my dreams!!!LOL... Bloomin eck Loose Women's on... my day is disappearing fast... better run round with a duster and pretend to be the perfect housewife!!!

A day out with the family...

Had a lovely day yesterday.. Mam and I took Z man off to Newcastle so he could spend some of his birthday cash that had been burning a hole in his pocket.. We had a little saunter round The Baltic first.. fab fab modern art that I totally don't understand but some of it was fascinating, funny and just quirky... Loved it.. My fave piece ( or whatever you call it!!LOL) was a series of photos taken by the band The Kills which was in the Dazed and Confused exhibition.... just loved it..can't find any pics to show.. actually I loved most of the Freakshow gallery too. that was actually quite thought provoking and was a bit of a tongue poking look at what we see in natural history museums, ooh then there was a really dark, funky exhibit downstairs by Fabien Vershaere and a strangely captivating documentary about ukranian mudbaths!!!??I!!..ooh and the most gorgeous handwriting on the exhibition by Graham Dolphin-album covers and adverts with the teeniest tinest text on them.. Anyway I clould witter on about it all for ages and I would sound pants as I din't kna what I's gannin on aboot! ooh must add they had loads of fab fab Lomo cameras in the gift shop.. after my lil play with that photoshop action I have become quite interested in finding out more about Lomo photography.. love lovin the effect..
Then we went for lunch at the tapas bar I reved about a few weeks ago.. soooooo disappointing.. really naff this time, wish we'd gone to wagamama which was our first suggestion!? But have promised z man we'll do it in the hols...
And the rest of the afternoon was spent with the lil fella kitting himself out with some cool summer togs and yet more dvd's and games!!! Groan.....At least he managed to spend a whole day away from the computer while we were shopping!LOL

Oh and I managed to pick myself up this lovely pair of beauties!!!! 10 squid in the Office sale..how could I resist.. darn my inexplicable cherry obsession!!!!

OOh had a great afternoon this afternoon faffing about with a free photoshop action I downloaded here Addicted to designs.. it's just fantastic for my New York shots.. really makes my naff photos look fab.. well I love the effect anyway..



OK really should have done some housework today but am soooo knackered.. think I'll stay on the couch.. might have a crack at making/decorating my album for the All My Own Work Challenge... but still can't decide what to use.. might wait till first journalling/page point and see where it sways me

Hellooooooooo

Well.. can't believe it's been so long since I posted... been working like tons, which means I can't get my groove back on.. house is a tip, hardlys see the boys at the mo...and scrapping, what the heck is that..Can't wait till this uncertain time is over and I can start easing into one of the new shift patterns ( I have my fingers crossed that I'm not in the permanent days category) and get on track with life again..

Shouldn't we work to live.. not live to work.. ugh

Anyway am toying with the idea of maybe going to a local crop on Saturday.. would be my first real life crop ( apart from Center Parcs and Scrappers paradise, but they were weekendy things)...think it might be the only way I get some scrapping done.. remove myself from the house so don't feel guilty about not doing hw...will have to check whether Mr B can take me.. I dunno.. I'll probably change my mind at the last moment.. so haven't contacted the organiser.. may just nip in as a late runner! LOL.. Toodle ooh for now.. break is over, best get back before the whip is out!

This is my incentive..My ScrapRoom Kit.. This arrived Tuesday and am dying to play...but must get this house semi blasted before I can.. It's an odd lil quirk of mine.. and probably the reason I get not too much scrapping done. I can't relax and play while there's stuff to be done.. someone tell me how I break this horrid cycle ( cos there's ALWAYS something to be done...)
Anyhoo..sneakin on quick , now that I know peeps are reading (Hello to all!!!) suppose I best make an effort to post LOL!!!! am mid bedroom cupboard cleanout..the BIG CLEAN isn't going as quickly as planned!
Although that may be due to the fact have taken the opportunity to get some catching up done too.. Tuesday popped over to see one of my bestest pals.. and my gowgeous goddaughter... ( Hmm nearly posted a pic there and then realised had forgotten to ask permission.. oops!) had a some lunch and lovely catch up, it was the first time I had seen Thompa since she announced she's preggers!! Still no bump yet, but says she knackered..She thinks that's cos she's a bit older than when she had Grace.. Yikes.. that scare mes!! I was knackered at 19 with Zac.. how the heck am I gonna cope this time (well when it happens!?!)
Then last night went to see my matey chum Lindy Lous new house..Hurrumph! That's the sound of me leaving in digust at the bloody loveliness of it.. it's a fab homely home..absolutely hu-flippin-mungously huge.. but cosy at the same time.. Nee food in the cupboards like, so we had to pop out for tea (LOL!!) Me, Lind and Suzy Wong.. I really enjoy a catch up with these gals... proper good mates who I miss horribly at work.. If I have to go back to dayshift without them I'm not sure how I'll cope!

This week I am vowing to get back in the groove.. Lately everything seems to have slipped... the dull boring housework, the even duller washing & ironing..my exercise classes and swimming ( gym visits are are far too distant memory!!).. I seem to be frittering money away on snacks & eating crap at work cos my meal planning & shopping isn't getting done.....even niceties like popping to see matey chums and scrapping seem to be on the back burner..
Sooooooo I've hit that point ( I get to it once in a while!) and it's time to get busy....I'm on rest week from work ( possibly my last... eeeek!) so I'm gonna make the most of it and get my groove on...I know I can fit it all in if I just make an effort/time... and once all the dull stuff is outta the way I can play.. Hoorah!!!

From the land of nightshift....

I hate this week at work... 7 looooooong nights, no time to play, no time for hw...I feel like all I do is sleep, go to work, sleep, go to work... I hardly see Mr B or The Boy.. or anyone other than me shift partners....Boo hoo me!! Can you tell I'm feeling really sorry for myself?!?!

Well my plan was to have a lil play with digi scrappin.. ( no time to hawk everything out and tidy up, plus thought I may be able to sneak a lil in perhaps in my lunch break!?) .. But alas has not happened... Life, work and all sorts of truly dull stuff just gets in the way.. bah!!!!! Might not be a prob for too much longer as there's big changes at work afoot... keep thinking positive thoughts for me chicks, am trying but you know me ever the 'half empty' gal...

Anyway dull boring life chat over.. Back to digi scrapping.. now I'm never gonna get to the level of Kate Hadfield.. ( have you seen her stuff.. wowsers..a-m-a-z-i-n!!!)... but wanna have a lil dabble in the digi darkside so I can play without getting me hands drty iykwim!.. so here was my first attempt at digi with a most Gorg-eous kit from the ooober talented Kirsty and Katie ( Check out Kirsty's link there..she has 'mazingly gorgeous freebies that really must get around to having a play with soon).. I actually had this play months ago, but I think it's not quite right.. so that was my mission for this week... but alas dull stuff in the way.. twas not to be... maybe sometime soon.. anyway must scoot , get ready for work.. grrrrrrrrrrrrr...

Le Weekend is over...Ho hum.. back to hum drum normality..

Have had a lovely weekend gone.. Sat went out for belated birthday day with ma gals... went to El Torero for yumilicious tapas ( Check out the El Rio selection menu.. DIVINE Darlings!!)then chilled by the river with a few drinky poos.. was sad to find an old fave bar of mine, Stereo was now dingy & horrid.. and didn't make it to Apartment for one of my fave Raspberry Mojitos.. but had a great day playing at ladies ( erm in the loosest sense of the word.. OMG that sounds terrible, we're not loose women.. Oh gawd I'll just shurrup..) who lunch... We toasted some fab news, had nawty conversations, drank some more, gossiped some & planned a break to Puerto Banus later in the year.. hoorah! Haven't been away with the gals for years....Crazy lay-dees loose in Mar-bell-aaah..best pack me white stillies and my lurex boob tubes and warn the rest o the world LOL!!.. Can't wait! But after a brief stop off at Lou's we were home and tucked up in PJ's by 11pm... On a Sat Night ShoCK HorRoR!! Well we are all twenty thirteen now...

Had a yummy sunday too.nice lay in, and then sunday lunch big styleee at the toby carvery.. was nice just to spend time with me boys after saturdays girly overload!! Topped it all off with a Sunday afternoon doze on the couch... life doesn't get much better than that!

And then there's night shift week..... Grrrrreat!............ nuff said!

So scrap wise...Am feeling all inspired to create at the mo...am signed up for Anita Mundt's workshop The Secret and have been browsing the LO's posted on UKS and on the blog ..some faberoonies LO's on there... Why is it that when I have no time to play I'm bursting with ideas then when I sit down to scrap I'm like..' D'uh sharp thing what do I do with this!!' can't wait for next week so I can play....no fair!!!

Real live Scrappers.. in captivity!!!

If you had told me a couple of years ago that I'd be spending a day off work cutting and sticking and chatting to some randoms on that there t'interweb.. I'd have thought you were maaaad!!!!!
But yesterday I spent a day cutting and sticking and chatting to me lovely mates the Chatterbox Chicks online! Fab fun day, we set ourselves a couple o' challenges.. not that I stuck to them like! and chitter chatter over the marvellous t'interweb machine!


We all had some pics of our lovely lil Kimberlah ( She hates me calling her that!?) being a lil kid on the swings... I loved this LO, then managed to splodge me paint everywhere, when putting the title on... bahhhh!!!!!
We had also all chosen a word to scrap or be inspired by.. I chose CHANGE.. and had wanted to scrap a pic of Mr B's decks all packed up, but had camera issues (:rolleyes:).. so I thought no stress move onto another challenge.. Huge acheivement for me, normally I go doolally tap if things don't go as planned.. hey hey, perhaps this is grownupdom sneakin up on me!Anyhoo.. I digress (?!?)


Clare had challenged me to scrap a place name, so started off, thinking I would just title this LO Lanzarote ( Cop out.. who me!!?) but then realised I wanted to scrap memories of this pic, and had a title in mind.. LO is about our ahem.. lovely honeymoon suite.. above the hotel kitchen doors and looking over wasteland!! Romantic not!!!!.. after a lil foot stomping though we were moved to another room with a gorgeous view over the bay to Fuerteventura.. ah bliss sitting sipping G & T's watching the lights come on of an evening... oops sorry lost meself there.. sooo decided not to do the scrap the place name challenge...but have just realised... That I actually have scrapped CHANGE as we changed rooms!!! Hurrah, completing challenges without even realising, clever lil thing I am!!!!

I'm Outta Love.....

In the words of the great Anastasia!! ( LOL).. Basic Grey... can't get my head around it at the mo... haven't had the pennies to purchase any collection packs from the recent releases, but have the european mountain of collection packs from the older releases to use up.... Now I used to lurrrrve this stuff, and still look at the BG newsletter and galery and think think yep.. that's what I wanna create.. but I just shuffle the papers around on my table and it never turns out how I plan or am particularly fond of.. but thought I'd best get using it so this was my effort of last night and this morning.. lots of shuffling, reshuffling and eventual resigning myself to the fact this was all I could come up with..... Not totally hating it, but as you can probably tell, not loving it either!!!!

So what does this do??!!!

Ok not sure what am gonna use this blog for as don't really fancy baring my soul for the world to see!???!! And really doubt anyone that interested!!!LOL!But I spend so/too much time browsing other peoples blogs and not commenting.. that I felt it was time to get myself hooked up with at least a username and password so I could comment...

Plus.... there's an online something or other ( v mysterious!!??) scrapping thing ( oh so descriptive today aren't we.. perhaps alphabetti spaghetti for tea would improve my vocabulary!!) called the Secret starting up.. and the only way I could see to sign up was with a blog comment.. so that's what I'm off to do now..
